According to Kyodo News, Suga Yoshihide and Bach held talks on the 16th and said: “I am determined to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the summer of 2021 to prove that mankind has defeated Coronavirus.” He also said that he looked forward to close cooperation with the International Olympic Committee and Bach.

On August 31, local time, the Tokyo Olympic flame was publicly unveiled at the Olympic Museum in Japan. From September 1, the torch will be held here for a two-month exhibition.

In addition, according to Reuters, Bach said after the meeting that he was “very, very confident” that he believed that the audience would be able to participate in the Tokyo Olympics, which will be postponed in 2021.
