Sources pointed out that on the same day, Russian airspace monitoring equipment found an air target approaching the Russian border over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk.

Subsequently, the Su-30 fighter aircraft of the Eastern Military Region of Russia, which is on combat readiness duty, took off and verified that the air target was Japanese OP-3C patrol aircraft.

Sources said that there were no violations of Russian airspace by foreign military aircraft that day.
