Japan will develop “out-of-area missiles” through missile defense documents

by YCPress

According to a report by Kyodo News Agency on the 18th, the Japanese government adopted missile defense-related documents at the cabinet meeting on the same day.

According to this document, Japan will build two Aegis ships as an alternative to the land-based Aegis system plan. The range of the Land Self-Defense Force Type 12 land-based anti-ship missile will be extended and developed as an “out-of-area missile” that can carry out attacks from outside the enemy’s range.

The document does not state that it has the ability to attack enemy bases, but says that it will continue to explore enhanced deterrence.
