December 23rd – On theĀ 23rd local time, Kyoto University and Sumitomo Forestry Company jointly released information that they planned to send the first wooden satellite to space in 2023, which is characterized by very environmental protection.

According to a report by Japan’s Kyodo News Agency on the 23rd, the moon is a cube with a side length of 10 centimeters, and the wood used is Japan’s thick and simple with strong deformation resistance.

It will stay in the same orbit as the International Space Station for half a year to one year, and regularly send back information about the strength deformation of wood to the earth.

Professor Takao Doi, who participated in the study, said that the satellite will burn out when entering the atmosphere, will not produce harmful substances like metal, and is very friendly to the environment.
