April 6 – According to a report by Kyodo News Agency of Japan, regarding the coordination of the Japanese government to deploy the most cutting-edge F-35B stealth fighters to the Air Self-Defense Force Nittahara base in Shintomocho

Miyazaki Prefecture, Eiichi Kuna, the deputy director of the Kyushu Defense Bureau of the Ministry of Defense, met with the deputy governor Toshiro Niyuchiro in the Miyazaki Prefecture government on the 5th, and made “Shindahara is One of the strong candidates” and other explanations.

The Japanese replied: “It’s not uncooperative. I want to ask for an honest response.” After the meeting, the two revealed the above to the media.

Japan said that it was the first time that the central government of Japan had explained the deployment plan of the F-35B to Miyazaki Prefecture.

It is said that the location of deployment will be determined as early as 2021, and the county requires relevant information as soon as the guidelines are finalized to determine whether it should be accepted.

The Japan Defense Agency initially asked about the intention to meet behind closed doors, but the prefecture opposed that “for the sake of communicating to the county people, it is unacceptable if it is not public.” The meeting only made the opening part public.

F-35B fighters are reported to be able to take off and land vertically at short distances.

Based on the Medium-term Defense Preparedness Plan formulated at the end of 2018, the Japanese government plans to introduce 18 aircraft by 2023.

The acquisition costs of six and two aircraft have been included in the 2020 and 2021 budgets, respectively.
