April 25th, Italy’s health minister, Speranza, announced that an executive order had been signed banning people who had been in India for the past 14 days. Under the executive order, Italian residents who have stayed in India in the past 14 days are exempt, provided that the latter undergo a new coronavirus test on departure and arrival and are subject to an obligation to quarantine upon entry into Italy.
Speranza also asked people who have visited India in the last 14 days and have now arrived in Italy to contact the health department as soon as possible and undergo testing for the new coronavirus.
In light of the recent outbreak in India and the emergence of a variant of Coronavirus, many countries have imposed stricter travel bans on it.
