JERUSALEM, Jan. 24 – Israel’s Cabinet approved an agreement to normalize relations between Israel and Morocco, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement on Jan. 24.

The statement said the agreement was “unanimously approved” by the Cabinet.

According to the relevant provisions of Israeli law, the agreement will be voted on in the Knesset in the near future, followed by the final approval of the Cabinet.

The U.S. government announced on Dec. 10, 2020, that Morocco and Israel had agreed to establish full diplomatic relations.

With the U.S. brokering, Israel recently signed agreements to normalize relations with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, and agreed to normalize relations with Sudan.

The relevant agreements have been opposed by the Palestinian parties.
