May 2, local time, Israel held a nationwide memorial service for the 45 victims of the Mount Meron stampede two days ago (April 30). Flags were lowered at half-mast at the Israeli presidential palace, parliament, public buildings and IDF bases.

Over the past two days, the Israeli Government and leaders have received messages of condolence from many countries and leaders around the world.

According to the latest figures, four Americans, two Canadians and one Argentine were among the 45 victims, and some of the more than 150 were non-Israeli citizens.
