Iraq will impose a curfew again to curb the rebound of the pandemic

Baghdad, February 13 The Iraqi government decided on the 13th that the country would impose a curfew nationwide again to curb the rebound of the coronavirus pandemic.

The High Committee on Health and National Security of Iraq issued a statement on the same day saying that from February 18 to March 8, a curfew will be imposed again throughout the country, from 20 to 5 p.m. every day from Monday to Thursday, and from Friday to Sunday.

The committee also stipulated that distance learning will be implemented in public and private schools across the country from February 18 to March 4; people will be prohibited from participating in gathering activities such as wedding and funeral ceremonies; and the attendance rate of government staff will be maintained at 50%.

Iraq’s COVID-19 pandemic has rebounded recently, with more than 2,000 new confirmed cases every day.

According to the Ministry of Health of Iraq on the 13th, there were 2,190 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country on the same day, with a total of 641,628 confirmed cases; 7 new deaths, with a total of 13,164 deaths; 1,158 new cured cases and a total of 605,980 cured cases.
