February 21st, Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif stressed again that if the U.S. government wants to return to the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue, it should first lift all sanctions against Iran.
Zarif also reiterated that Iran’s gradual suspension of implementing some provisions of the Iran nuclear agreement is “reversible”.
After the new U.S. government came to power, it focused on restoring contact with Iran.
The United States and Iran exchanged conditions for the return to the Iran nuclear agreement, and both sides asked the other party to take the first step: the United States asked Iran to resume the agreement, and Iran asked the United States to lift sanctions.
Previously, the United States offered to hold meetings with Iran and other participants in the Iran nuclear agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue.
Zarif repeatedly reiterated Iran’s position that the United States lift sanctions against Iran first.
However, the United States said that the United States will not take “extra actions such as easing sanctions” in exchange for Iran’s cooperation before the meeting between the United States and Iran and other participants in the Iran nuclear agreement.
