Iran Sanctions the U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Effective from the Date of Issue of the Statement

by YCPress

December 9th local time, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement placing Christopher Hanzel, the U.S. Ambassador to Yemen, on the sanctions list.

The statement said that Christopher Hanzel’s destructive actions have played a political solution to Yemen because of his important role in maiming the Yemeni people, imposing cruel and inhumane sanctions against Yemen, and organizing funds and armed forces, and providing financial and policy support to the aggressors in violation of the basic principles of international law.

The problem is deadlocked, thus allowing the humanitarian disaster in the country to continue to expand. In view of the above, the Iranian government has placed it on the sanctions list and will take effect from the date of issuance of the statement.
