The United States and Iran have recently exchanged conditions for a comprehensive agreement on the return of the United States to Iran’s nuclear issue, and both sides hope that the other side will take the first step.

Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif said on the 19th local time that if the U.S. government lifts all sanctions against Iran, Iran will “immediately reverse” its previous move to suspend the implementation of some of the provisions of the Iran nuclear agreement.

This is after the United States proposed to “will meet with Iran and other participants in the Iran nuclear agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue”, Zarif called on the United States to take the “first step” for the second consecutive day.

Zarif wrote on social media on the 19th local time that if the United States lifts “all” sanctions “unconditionally” and “effectively”, Iran will “immediately reverse” its previous measures.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Khatibzad also urged the United States to “step” and lift sanctions on social media on the same day (19th), and then Iran will respond.

After holding an online meeting with the foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany on the 18th local time, U.S. Secretary of State Blinken said that if Iran strictly implements the Iran nuclear agreement again, the United States will also take action to be ready to consult with Iran.

Zarif stressed on social media later that the day that “the United States should take the first step” and that Iran’s previous series of suspensions on some provisions of the Iran nuclear agreement was in response to the United States’ “departication”.

EU officials said they were organizing an informal meeting on the Iranian nuclear issue.

According to Reuters, a senior EU official revealed on the 19th local time that the European Union is organizing an informal meeting, intending to invite all participants in the Iran nuclear agreement and the United States to participate in the meeting. The official said that there is no timetable for the meeting at present, and the United States has expressed its willingness to participate in any meeting, and he believes that Iran will not refuse to attend the meeting.

The White House said that the United States will not lift sanctions against Iran for the time being.

On the same day, White House Press Secretary Pusaki said that the United States did not intend to lift sanctions against Iran because it was “willing to join the negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program” and that the United States would not take “extra measures” on Iran until “diplomatic dialogues”.

Israeli Prime Minister: Oppose the reversal of policy towards Iran

It is also reported that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu warned on the 19th local time that reversing the policy towards Iran’s nuclear program would “paving the way for Iran to access its nuclear arsenal”.

In May 2018, the United States unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear agreement, and then restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iran. In response, since May 2019, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of some provisions of the Iran nuclear agreement, but stressed that the measures taken are “reversible”.
