The Department of Transportation said that the Boeing 737-500 aircraft was inspected and declared airworthy before returning to flight.
The plane was grounded at the end of March, a few weeks after Indonesia reported its first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus.
After passing the inspection of the General Administration of Air Transport, the plane resumed flight on December 19.
At 14:36 local time on the 9th, a passenger plane of Indonesia’s Sanfoqi Airlines with 62 people took off from Jakarta International Airport.
Four minutes later, it lost contact with the ground and was found to have crashed into the waters of the Kuril Islands in Jakarta region.
