India Pandemic : Indian Capital Region Health Minister Satyendra Jain said on the 8th that the capital New Delhi is currently at the third wave of Coronavirus pandemic, and it is also the worst wave so far. .

According to data released by the Indian Ministry of Health, the number of new confirmed cases of Coronavirus in New Delhi has continued to increase in recent days, breaking 7000 cases for the first time on the 6th, setting a record for the highest number of new cases in a single day since the outbreak. On the 8th, there were 6953 newly diagnosed cases in the Capital Region, a total of 430784 confirmed cases, 78 new deaths, and a total of 6912 deaths.

Jia Yin said that the main reason for the recent rapid increase in Coronavirus cases is that people have slackened their epidemic prevention and do not wear masks. In addition, the increase in the number of tests and the strengthening of tracking of close contacts have also led to an increase in newly confirmed cases.

The National Center for Disease Control of India predicts that New Delhi may increase the number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus by 15,000 in winter, partly because of the high incidence of winter respiratory diseases caused by air pollution, and people are more susceptible to the virus.

The Indian Medical Association also pointed out on the 7th that an important reason for the surge in Coronavirus cases in the capital region is air pollution. In recent days, the New Delhi Air Quality Index has been at the “severe pollution” level.

According to data released by the Indian Ministry of Health on the morning of the 8th, in the past 24 hours, there were 45,674 newly confirmed cases nationwide, with a total of 8,507754 confirmed cases; 559 new deaths and a total of 126,121 deaths.
