British media reported that India may approve the coronavirus vaccine developed by the

British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca in cooperation with Oxford University next week.

The Indian government may approve the emergency use of the coronavirus vaccine developed by

AstraZeneca and Oxford next week after local producers submit the data requested by the government.

At that time, India will become the first country to approve the use of AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine, and the British drug regulator is still testing the later experimental data of the vaccine.

According to Al Jazeera, India is the world’s largest vaccine producer.

The Indian government hopes to start vaccinateing citizens in January next year.

In addition to AstraZeneca vaccine, India is considering an emergency authorization for the coronavirus vaccine produced by

Pfizer in the United States and Bharat Biotech, a domestic Indian company.

The coronavirus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca in cooperation with

Oxford University is considered essential for low-income countries and warmer climates, because it is

relatively cheaper, easier to transport, and can be stored for a long time at normal refrigerator temperatures.

India is the second most populous country in the world and one of the highest rates of COVID-19 infection.

The analysis believes that widespread vaccination of COVID-19 in India will be an important step in the global fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
