January 2nd – On New Year’s Eve, a large number of people without masks gathered outside a hospital in London, England, shouting that “COVID-19 is a scam”. Doctors at the hospital filmed this incredible scene, tweeting that the move was heartbroken, pointing out that the ignorance of these people was hurting others.

According to the British Mirror and Daily Mail on the 1st, emergency doctor Matthew Lee Fatui said that he found a large crowd outside St. Thomas’s Hospital in London on the night before the New Year.

He took the video and tweeted: “A hundred people who don’t wear masks and are drunk shouting ‘COVID-19 is a scam’ outside the hospital, and hundreds of people are sick and dying in the hospital. Why are people still not aware of the severity of this pandemic?”

In a later tweet, Lee said he was disgusted with the behavior, but more heartbroken: “I hope people can see the number of coronavirus cases and deaths in hospitals, as well as the sacrifices made by medical staff.

This week alone has been difficult. And their ignorance (people outside the hospital) is hurting others. I really hope people can protect themselves.

British media pointed out that on New Year’s Eve, British Prime Minister Johnson called on people not to gather during the epidemic. Although most of Britain is much quieter than usual, there are still some people who can’t resist the impulse to attend parties.

In east London, two illegal carnival gatherings were stopped by the police. On January 1st, local time, the latest data released by the Department of Health and Social Security showed that 53,285 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the United Kingdom in the past 24 hours, with a total of 254,065 confirmed cases; 613 new deaths, with a total of 74,125 deaths.
