Hanoi, October 23. Vietnam’s Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention announced on the 23rd that heavy rains, floods, landslides and other related disasters have caused 117 deaths in central Vietnam and Xiyuan, and 21 others are missing.

half of the deaths and missing persons were in Quang Tri and Chengtian-Hue provinces in central Vietnam. 

Floods caused by heavy rains have damaged more than

37,000 houses in Quang Binh Province and other places in central China.

The Chinese Embassy in Vietnam issued a reminder on the 22nd that the typhoon “Shadr” is expected to arrive in the Ha Tinh and Nghe An provinces of central Vietnam on the evening of the 24th local time

affecting the central and northern parts of Vietnam. There will be strong winds and heavy rainfall. 

The embassy reminded Chinese citizens in the northern region of Viet Nam and those who intend to travel to

the region in the near future to strengthen early warning and prevention.
