Hamas has warned Israeli forces not to start ground fighting in the Gaza Strip

Gaza, May 13 2021 Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) under the armed wing of the Qassam Brigades warned on the evening of the 13th, the Israeli army should not launch any ground operations in the Gaza Strip, or face “cruel lessons.”

Palestinian media quoted Abu Ubaydah, a spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, as saying that armed groups in the Gaza Strip fired 90 rockets at the southern cities of Ashkelon and Ashdod that night. He also warned Israeli forces not to invade the Gaza Strip, otherwise it would only increase the chances of death and capture, and the Palestinian side was ready to fight back against the enemy.

According to Israeli media reports, Israeli infantry and armored units are massing along the border with the Gaza Strip, and preparations have been completed in the southern military region, where israeli forces are tasked with the main task of ground combat. In addition, Israel urgently recruited 16,000 reservists to assist field forces in their operations.

Witnesses told Xinhua that Israeli warplanes and tanks launched air strikes and shelling on the northern Gaza Strip towns of Beit Hanoun and Jabaliya on the evening of the 13th, killing at least 11 people and wounding dozens more.

In recent days, serious clashes have broken out between Israeli and Gaza Strip militants. Armed elements in the Gaza Strip have so far fired nearly 2,000 rockets at Israel, killing seven Israelis and injuring more than 100 others.

Israeli forces immediately retaliated by air strikes and shelling more than 750 targets of armed groups in the Gaza Strip. Gaza Strip health spokesman Ashraf Zidra said on the evening of the 13th, Israeli air strikes and shelling caused a total of 103 Palestinians killed and 580 injured.
