New Delhi, January 13 the Indian government approved the air force to purchase 73 “Glorious” light fighters and 10 training aircraft.
According to a statement issued by the Indian government, Prime Minister Modi presided over the cabinet meeting on the same day and approved the procurement plan.
73 Glorious Mk-1A fighters are worth Rs 456.96 billion (about $6.24 billion) and 10 Glorious Mk-1 training aircraft are worth Rs 12.02 billion (about 164 million US dollars).
According to the data, the “Glorious” fighter is a single-engine multi-functional light fighter independently developed and manufactured by India.
It is designed by the Indian Aviation Development Agency, the Aircraft Research and Design Center under Hindustan Airlines Co., Ltd., and produced by Hindustan Airlines Co., Ltd.
