French screenwriter and novelist Jean-Claude Carrier died at his home in Paris on Monday at the age of 89, AFP reported.

His family revealed that he died naturally.

Jean-Claude Carrier has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Love in Prague, Hazy Desire and Bourgeoisie’s Discreet Charm.

Carriet’s work also includes Phantom of Liberty, The Tin Drum, The May Fool, Yoyo, Danton, The Light Horse on the Roof, The Legit Duplicate, and more.
