This procedure is mainly used for the trial of major serious cases. After receiving the application of the procuratorial organ, the examining judge conducts inquiries and investigations on the relevant personnel of the case, collects relevant evidence, and determines whether a hearing is needed.

The examining magistrate in charge of the Ghosn case originally planned to travel to Lebanon and conduct a five-day inquiry and investigation against Ghosn himself on the ground from January 18.

However, according to Ghosn’s lawyers and others, due to the escalation of the local COVID-19 epidemic in Lebanon, Lebanon has taken measures such as entry restrictions, so the investigation has been postponed.

The new investigation schedule has not yet been released, and it is speculated that it will be adjusted according to the epidemic situation.
