France will resume the collection of digital service taxes

by YCPress

According to Bloomberg, French officials said that France will resume collecting digital services tax.

French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has previously said that if the global negotiations on the Economic Cooperation and Development Organization (OECD) to rewrite international tax rules fail, the EU should continue to push forward the digital tax plan.

The proposal is intended to prevent US technology giants such as Google, Facebook and Amazon from legally transferring profits to low-tax countries such as Ireland.

Although France suspended digital taxes until December, the United States also suspended retaliatory trade tariffs on French goods until January.

But Le Maire said earlier that France’s digital service tax will be collected as planned from December.
