January 25th, local time, the Ya News Agency reported that the former minister of the Greek government, Shifis Valilakis, disappeared around noon on January 24.

He was later found dead in the sea near the islands of Ereteria and Pezonisi at the age of 77.

It is reported that on the afternoon of the 24th, the Coast Guard sent naval helicopters, rescue ships and a rescue team to carry out search and rescue operations.

The rubber boat piloted by Shifis Valilakis was found stranded near Aspronesi Island when the engine was still running, and there were two fishing guns on board.

On the evening of the 24th, the body of the former minister was found near Pezonisi Island, one mile away from the ship. According to Coast Guard officials.

The 77-year-old former minister may have lost balance after slipping on the ship for some reason, causing the tragic death of falling from the ship into the sea.

Valilakis was the Minister of Public Order of Greece from March 1995 to January 1996, responsible for the security and intelligence services.

Previously, he also served as Deputy Minister of Public Order, Minister of Sports, Minister of Transport and Communications.
