Fauci: We don’t want to completely blockade, but we may have to do so

by YCPress

On November 29th local time, Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, expressed his concern about the U.S. health system in an interview.

Fauci told NBC that he received calls from colleagues from various states in the United States on the evening of the 28th local time alone. They said that if the epidemic does not improve quickly, they will be in trouble, the hospital capacity will be overloaded, and the medical staff will also be overloaded.

“My colleagues on the front lines are almost begging for something we can do, and we don’t want to go into a full lockdown again, but we may have to do that.”

Fauci said, “What I’m talking about is that the epidemic is beginning to put great pressure on hospitals and the health care system. Therefore, we should alleviate this pressure and reduce the need for a complete blockade by doing what we can, such as wearing masks.”
