February 19th local time, Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo announced in a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the Equatorial Guinea Embassy in Israel would be relocated from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
In a subsequent statement, the Office of the Prime Minister said that Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed Israel’s willingness to deepen cooperation with African countries, and Israel is returning to Africa.
According to the introduction, Equatorial Guinea was a Spanish colony and gained independence in 1968.
