Eight people have been killed in a fire at a hotel in Latvia’s capital

April 28 2021 A fire broke out in a family hotel in the center of the Latvian capital Riga early Wednesday morning, killing eight people.

According to Latvia’s National Fire and Rescue Service, local time on the 28th at about 5 o’clock, the fire department received an alarm, firefighters then rushed to the scene, in a seven-story building on fire found eight bodies of victims.

Six others were taken to hospital and 20 were moved to safety. Local media reported that the building on fire was a family hotel.

It is understood that most of the hotel stays are foreigners.

According to local media reports, the building over-fire area of about 250 square meters, the fire has been put out.
