Eight people died in the ambush of Al-Shabaab in Garmudug region, Somalia.

February 16th, local time, according to the Somali news website Garowe Online, eight people, including five soldiers and three civilians, were killed in an ambush in the Somali “Al-Shabaab” in Garmudug region of Somalia.

According to local residents, because the local army was not prepared for the raid, members of Al-Shabaab easily took control of the Jiid-dheere area of the state.

The Somali National Defence Force then carried out an emergency operation to expel Al-Shabaab.
