May 17th 2021, the Supreme Council for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, announced that it would immediately lift or relax a series of previously enacted pandemic prevention restrictions.
Dubai will lift the hotel occupancy cap, increasing the maximum customer capacity of entertainment venues to 70 per cent, allowing large-scale events such as concerts and community sports, allowing concerts and community sports, allowing the maximum number of people sitting at a table in a restaurant from 7 to 10, increasing the maximum number of people sitting at a table in a café from 4 to 6, reducing the social distance requirement for public places from 3m to 2m, and vaccinating all participants. The maximum number of weddings was increased to 100, after only 10 people were allowed to attend, and all must be relatives;
Local officials stressed that the relaxation of the pandemic prevention measures will be piloted for a month, everyone must still wear masks in public places, violators will still be fined 3,000 dirhams (about 800$).
With the increasing vaccination rate, the United Arab Emirates recently added new cases of Coronavirus has been on a downward trend, the latest week of daily new cases hit a new low for the year.
