Dubai Chief announces Dubai Creative Economy Strategy

April 3rd local time, Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Chief of Dubai, announced the Dubai Creative Economy Strategy, which aims to double the contribution of creative industries to Dubai’s GDP over the next five years compared with 2.6% at the end of 2020, striving to Reach 5% in 025.

According to the introduction, the strategic goal also includes: in the next five years, the number of companies and institutions in Dubai’s creative industry will increase from the current 8,300 to 15,000, and the number of jobs provided by the creative industry will increase from the current 70,000 to 140,000.

The strategy covers industries and fields such as book publishing, radio, television, film, music, cultural heritage, game software, fashion and architectural design.

The Dubai government will create the necessary legislative, investment and technological environment for the growth and prosperity of these industries, relying on Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Studios The city and featured areas such as Dubai Design District build large-scale creative parks to attract innovative talents and investors from all over the world to enhance the innovation and competitiveness of Dubai’s creative industry.
