According to Japanese media, during the epidemic of the new influenza virus in 2009, Emperor Akihito gave priority to influenza vaccination because of basic diseases.

The Japanese government is currently conducting a simplified procedure “extra-clearance” for the coronavirus vaccines of two British and American companies that have been ordered, and about 10,000 medical personnel in Tokyo are expected to take the lead in vaccination from February 17.
