Reuters : Walt Disney Company stated that it will lay off 32,000 employees due to the impact of the new crown epidemic, mainly involving theme parks. The company said in a document submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission that the layoffs will take place in the first half of 2021.

On July 1, 2020 local time, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will resume operations in Japan. The number of people entering the kindergarten on a single day will be controlled below half of the previous number. The park stipulates that visitors must take their body temperature before entering the park, and those who exceed 37.5 degrees are not allowed to enter the park.

In September 2020, the company said that Disney would lay off approximately 28,000 employees. A Disney spokesperson told Variety magazine that the 32,000 layoffs included the 28,000 previously announced.

Currently, Disney theme parks in Tokyo, Japan and other places have reopened. However, in France, the Disney theme park in Paris was forced to close again at the end of October due to the country’s new lockdown measures to combat the epidemic.

Earlier in November, the Walt Disney Company also stated that it would allow more employees in its Southern California theme parks to take temporary vacations because it was uncertain when California would allow the theme park to reopen.
