On the 26th local time, protests against the pandemic prevention laws broke out in the Italian capital Rome and major cities such as Milan, Turin, and Naples, and sporadic conflicts were triggered.

According to Ansa News Agency, the demonstrations mainly opposed the new epidemic prevention ordinance and protested against insufficient financial subsidies.

That night, hundreds of protesters gathered in the center of Turin.

After being attacked by firecrackers, the police dispersed the crowd and arrested at least one suspect suspected of making a firecracker. In Milan, some extremists threw stones and glass bottles at the regional government office buildings and blocked some sections of the city.

The Italian Ministry of the Interior raised the alert level, believing that due to the intensive escalation of pandemic prevention and control measures, local social tensions have intensified, requiring local police to focus on resolving risks and conflicts and resolutely “zero tolerance” for violence.

In view of the severe situation of the recent rebound in the epidemic in Italy, on the 26th, stricter anti-epidemic laws came into effect. According to the decree, Italian catering establishments shortened their service hours from 5 am to 18:00, and gyms, swimming pools,

game halls, theaters, etc. were temporarily closed.
