On August 18, local time, Croatia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Radman, announced that Croatia would receive 20 Afghans who had worked for the European Union mission in Afghanistan.
The EU’s External Operations Agency has asked EU member states to accept 500 Afghans working for the EU, who are translators, post-personnel and their families. Radman stressed that all Afghans received by Croatia are highly educated and have passed security checks.
Croatia has successfully evacuated 26 of its citizens from Afghanistan, according to Radman. (Reporter Zhang Ying)
