October 29 According to CBS reports, the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) announced on the 28th that due to the new crown epidemic, the Boston Marathon in April 2021 will be postponed, at least until Fall 2021.

“There are less than six months to go until the 2021 race day. Road racing is banned until the fourth phase of the Massachusetts reopening plan. We cannot host the Boston Marathon in April 2021.”

BAA CEO Tom Grilk said in a statement.

BAA is meeting with its “New Crown Medical and Event Action Advisory Group” to study how to hold the next marathon. Grilk said: “Considering the safety of contestants, volunteers, spectators and community members, we will continue to evaluate all factors of the competition, including reducing the size of the venue or holding it on weekends.”

The organization stated that other details regarding player registration and the size of the venue “will be announced soon.”

According to reports, the Boston Marathon is one of the World Marathon Grand Slam events. It was first held in 1897 and has a history of 123 years. It is held every year on “Patriot Day” in the United States, which is the third week of April. Once held, it attracted about 30,000 contestants.
