Colorado reports the first case of mutant COVID-19 infection

The Hill newspaper december 29th, Colorado reported the first case of mutant COVID-19 infection.

Colorado officials confirmed Tuesday that the first mutant coronavirus infection in the United States showed a strain similar to that spread in the United Kingdom.

“The Colorado lab notified the CDC about the case, a man in his 20s, who is currently in quarantine and has no travel history,” Governor Jared Polis said in a statement.

Polis said public health officials are currently investigating the case and the man will continue to be quarantined until health officials receive new notices. So far, no close contact with the patient has been found, but close contacts are being tracked.
