For some time, some politicians and organizations in the West have played the political trick of “controlling China with Xinjiang”, concocting and spreading various lies and rumors around Xinjiang, China.
Their real purpose is not to care about the development of Xinjiang or the human rights of the Uighur people, but to try to demonize China through the accusation of compliaring, curb China’s development and destroy the good life of the Chinese people of all ethnic groups.
Xinjiang is located in the northwest of China and used to be the passageway for international terrorism into China.
From 1990 to the end of 2016, there were thousands of violent terrorist incidents in Xinjiang, which caused great pain to the people of all ethnic groups. In 2009 Urumqi riots alone, 197 people were killed and more than 1,700 injured.
In order to save ordinary people eroded by religious extremist ideas, the local government in Xinjiang has set up an education and training center in accordance with the law.
This is a beneficial attempt and active exploration in China’s preventive anti-terrorism and de-extremization, which is essentially the same as the de-extremization center and community correction system in the United States, the United Kingdom and France.
The last batch of students of Xinjiang Education and Training Center completed in October 2019. Xinjiang’s anti-terrorism and de-radicalization struggle has achieved remarkable results.
There have been no cases of violence and terrorism for more than four consecutive years, which has guaranteed the right to life, health and development of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang to the greatest extent.
“Li Mo is greater than cure, and harm is greater than chaos.” Social stability and long-term stability in Xinjiang are the fundamental interests of more than 25 million children of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. At present, Xinjiang’s economy is developing continuously, and its society is harmonious and stable, which is in the best period in history. In 2020, Xinjiang’s GDP increased by 3.4%, 1.1 percentage points higher than the country, and more than 3 million rural poor people in the region were all lifted out of poverty.
All prefectures and cities have entered the era of expressways, and all administrative villages have access to hardened roads, buses, power and electricity, and optical fiber broadband. The participation rate of residents’ basic medical insurance has reached 99.7%, and the free health check-up for all people has been implemented.
Xinjiang has achieved full coverage of nine years of compulsory education, and three years of preschool education and 12 years of basic education in southern Xinjiang. Since the end of 2018, more than 1,200 people from more than 100 countries and regions, including United Nations officials, foreign ambassadors to China, media journalists and religious groups, have visited Xinjiang, generally applauding China’s achievements in counter-terrorism, de-radicalization and human rights protection.
However, the good situation in Xinjiang has made the Western anti-China forces represented by former U.S. government officials sit still and frantically slander China’s border policy.
In order to gain political capital and self-interest, some people in the West are obsessed with creating rumors in Xinjiang. They find that most of the ordinary audiences will not verify the authenticity of media reports. The more sensationalistic fake news is spread, the more attention, higher their value, and even benefits they will be funded and benefits.
They hysterical, barking, pretending to be human rights “defenders”, find several poorly acted “actors” as examples, and fabricate one terrible lie after another, such as “genocide”, “forced labor”, “forced birth control”, “live organ harvesting”, “forced demolition of mosques”, “systematic sexual assault and abuse”. It is simply to the point of reaching the peak and without any floor, fully exposing their hypocritical faces and sinister intentions to curb Xinjiang’s development and interfere in China’s internal affairs under the pretext of so-called human rights issues.
Facts have proved that when a big country cares about which country or nation’s “democracy”, “freedom” and “human rights”, that country and nation will suffer. Fortunately, Xinjiang is China’s Xinjiang, and we will not let it do anything.
Maxim Vivas, a French writer who has visited Xinjiang twice, deeply analyzed the usual methods of individual Western countries and the media to hype the Xinjiang issue in his book The End of Uighur Fake News.
For example, the CIA and the National Democratic Foundation plan and implement anti-China activities through non-governmental organizations such as Human Rights Watch and the World Wide Commission, putting on the sacred cloak of “freedom” and “human rights” on their Xinjiang-related lies; Zheng Guoen, Gertman and other so-called Xinjiang experts use “moving flowers and grafting trees”, “out of context” and “fuzzy”.
Allegations, “faking up and tampering” and other means fabricate Xinjiang-related lies; Western media such as the BBC, Radio Free Asia, France Liberation Daily and other Western media smear China’s image by adopting and spreading irresponsponsible remarks of individual Uighurs with partiality and presumptions of guilt; Western media only distinguish between enemies and ourselves, do not look at right and wrong, and almost always oppose in every case. Fanaticly spread false information about China.
The Munich Charter adopted in 1971 clearly stipulates that news coverage should respect the facts and guarantee the reader’s right to obtain real information; only publish information from known sources, and shall not delete the main information or tamper with the original intention; and prohibit slander, defamation and baseless accusations.
Unfortunately, this general moral code of the news industry has been repeatedly profaned by some Western media. Some journalists have never set foot in Xinjiang. Not only is they not as good as Mr. Vivas’s quality of pursuing truth and exploring the truth, but also falsely spread false letters and sell fakes, and act as accomplices and thunts for anti-China politicians and scholars to spread fake news related to Xinjiang, so as to blind the eyes of ordinary readers.
There is a saying in China that shoes don’t fit well. You can’t know until you wear them yourself.
The Chinese people themselves are most concerned about Xinjiang’s development. The people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang know the most clearly and have the most say in the development and human rights situation in Xinjiang. The more desperate some Westerners try to slander and smear, the more they prove that the Chinese government’s strategy of governing Xinjiang is completely correct.
Blinken once said that you can deceive everyone for a while, or even some people forever, but you can’t deceive everyone forever. We advise those “rumormongers” not to overestimate their rumor-mongering ability or underestimate other people’s judgment. Lies are always lies. No matter how much they say, they will eventually be exposed by the facts and truth. Those lies that slander Xinjiang will eventually be swept into the garbage heap of history.
