China News Service, Moscow, November 26 “In the framework of the Expo, Russian goods – cosmetics, candy, ice cream, toothpaste and hair dyes – were favored by Chinese consumers. In just three seconds, all candy and ice cream were sold out, creating sales of 180 in less than an hour. Millions of dollars”.

According to the Chinese Embassy in Russia on the 26th, Zhang Hanhui, the Chinese ambassador to Russia, recently wrote in the article “Stady and strong China’s economy will bring more opportunities for world economic development” published in Russia’s Argument and Facts.

It is mentioned in the article that Sino-Russian cooperation is of special significance in the layout of China’s foreign cooperation. Sino-Russian economic and trade cooperation has shown high resilience under the impact of the epidemic. In the first nine months of this year, the bilateral trade volume between China and Russia reached 78.8 billion US dollars. With obvious downward pressure on the global economy, this achievement is really not easy.

Zhang Hanhui said that China imported 2.6 billion cubic meters of Russian natural gas through pipelines and 3 million tons of liquefied natural gas, an increase of 97% from the same period last year. In the first seven months, China-Russia agricultural trade increased by 11%, of which imports from Russia increased by 27%, and the growth rate is expected to be about 10% for the whole year.

China is gradually opening up the import of Russian meat products, and the number of imports of Russian meat products in the first half of the year increased more than tenfold year-on-year.

At the same time, the cross-border e-commerce between China and Russia has developed rapidly, and China-EU trains have accelerated their development against the trend. New progress has been made in financial and tourism cooperation between the two countries and in information technology, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and other frontier fields with huge potential.

Zhang Hanhui said that as a comprehensive strategic cooperation partner, friendly neighbors and important trading partners, China-Russia economic and trade cooperation has special advantages and great potential.

We are willing to share the opportunities brought about by China’s opening up and development with Russian partners, and strive to promote the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union. During China’s 14th Five-Year Plan period, the bilateral trade volume between China and Russia will sprint towards the target of 200 billion US dollars, and we are full of confidence in this.
