Two sectors: prohibit the import of poultry and related products from Belgium
Recently, Belgian officials informed the World Organization for Animal Health that a highly pathogenic avian influenza epidemic of H5N5 subtype occurred in a commercial broiler farm in its territory. In order to protect the safety of animal husbandry in China and prevent the introduction of the epidemic, in accordance with the Customs Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine and other relevant laws and regulations, the following are hereby announced:
1. It is prohibited to import poultry and its related products directly or indirectly from Belgium (products originating from unprocessed poultry or products that are processed but may spread the epidemic).
2. It is prohibited to send or bring poultry and their products from Belgium into the country. Once found, it will be returned or destroyed.
III. If poultry and their products from Belgium are found on inbound vessels, aircraft and other means of transport, they shall be sealed and sealed and used without customs permission during their stay or operation in China. All waste, water, etc. shall be treated harmlessly under the supervision of the customs and shall not be abandoned without authorization.
IV. All illegally entering poultry and their products from Belgium intercepted by border defense and other departments shall be destroyed under the supervision of customs.
V. Anyone who violates the above provisions shall be dealt with by the customs in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Customs Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Entry-Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine and its implementation regulations.
6. All customs, animal epidemic prevention and control institutions at all levels and animal health supervision agencies shall cooperate closely in accordance with the Customs Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine, the Animal Epidemic Prevention Law of the People’s Republic of China and other relevant provisions, and do a good job in quarantine, epidemic prevention and supervision.
