Chilean capital hit by 5.7 magnitude earthquake, officials issued a tsunami warning

Jan. 24 According to the official determination of Earthquake Network, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in the South Shetland Islands at (19:36 p.m. local time on Jan. 23), with a depth of 10 kilometers and its epicenter located at 61.70 degrees south latitude and 55.60 degrees west longitude.

Subsequently, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake also occurred in Santiago, the capital of Chile (33.36 degrees south latitude, 70.17 degrees west longitude).

Currently, Chile has issued a tsunami warning and ordered the evacuation of military bases.
