According to the data updated on the French government website on the 10th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in France exceeded 3.38 million, an increase of 25,387 compared with the previous day, and the cumulative number of deaths reached 80,443, an increase of 296 compared with the previous day.

French medical professionals believe that the current epidemic situation in France is not optimistic, especially the spread of Variant novel coronavirus in the Greater Paris area has reached alarming extent.

In an interview on the 10th, Piaroo, director of the Infectious Diseases Department of the Tenon Hospital in Paris, said that nearly 39% of the recent new infections in the Greater Paris area may have been infected with variants found in the United Kingdom, and the genetic sequencing of positive samples is still lagging behind.

What’s more worrying is that there are currently 18 cluster infections of Variant COVID-19 in five hospitals in the Greater Paris area, including patients and medical staff.
