According to the Los Angeles Times on January 15th local time, record-breaking hot and dry weather (the Los Angeles area was over 34 °C that day) and Santa Ana gusts may put many parts of Southern California at risk of wildfires on weekends.

Previously, the National Weather Service had issued a red flag warning for fire in large areas of Southern California.

Mountains and valleys in five counties, including Los Angeles and Orange County, were marked as wildfire threat areas.

The warning predicted that gusts in the fire area might reach 48 to 56 kilometers per hour, such as strong winds causing mountains.

Fire, the fire may grow rapidly and endanger the residential areas in the above area.

On the morning of the 15th local time, gusts had fueled two fires, which quickly spread to hundreds of acres.

One of the larger wildfires, the Bonita Fire, began to burn in the San Jacinto Mountains of Riverside County early that morning and forced the nearby residents to evacuate urgently.
