The Bulgarian Ministry of Health announced on January 4th local time that 25,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Sofia that day, which was the second time that Bulgaria had received a COVID-19 vaccine transferred by an EU agency.
The first reception occurred on December 26 last year, when Bulgaria received nearly 10,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
According to reports, the second batch of vaccines will be distributed soon to five regions of Bulgaria for medical staff and the elderly.
Bulgaria is also expected to receive 35,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine in mid-January this year.
Between February and March this year, Bulgaria plans to launch a large-scale vaccination against the novel coronavirus among the general public.
