At 10:00 a.m. local time on December 27, Bulgaria’s COVID-19 vaccination was launched simultaneously in three cities, Sofia, Plovdiv and Burgas. Bulgarian Ministry of Health Kostadin Angelov became the first COVID-19 vaccinator in the country.

His vaccination process at Santa Ana Hospital in Sofia was also broadcast live on Bulgarian national television.

After the vaccination, Anzherov said that he felt very good and couldn’t wait to see his 70-year-old father.

Among the first group of people receiving vaccinations, Professor Assen Baltov, director of the Pirogov emergency hospital in Sofia, called for the public to be immunized, emphasizing that the vaccine is harmless.

Professor Krassmir Gigov, head of the Bulgarian National Vaccine Headquarters, was also injected at the Pirogov hospital. He called on everyone to get vaccinated, saying it was the only way out.

According to the introduction, each vaccinator needs to fill in the informed consent before vaccination.

The Bulgarian government emphasizes that vaccination is free, but only on the premise of voluntary.
