British Secretary of Defense: Britain may follow the US to reduce the number of troops in Afghanistan

According to Reuters, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that if the United States cuts its troops in Afghanistan, the United Kingdom may also reduce its troops in Afghanistan, but it will continue to cooperate with the Afghan government and the United States to protect the country’s security.

On the 18th, Wallace told reporters: “If they (the United States) reduce the number of troops stationed at some stage, we will also reduce it.”

On the 17th of this month, the US government stated that it would significantly reduce the number of US troops stationed in Afghanistan from 4,500 to 2,500 by mid-January.
