According to the Wall Street Journal on December 9, Boeing delivered a 737 MAX to United Airlines. United Airlines became the first airline to receive a newly manufactured 737 MAX aircraft after the U.S. regulator ended its nearly two-year ban on the aircraft last month.

A United Airlines spokesman said that the company got a 737 MAX on Tuesday, the first of eight MAX aircraft expected to be delivered to United Airlines by the end of the year.

The spokesman said that United Airlines will inspect and test the MAX before it will be put into use in the first quarter of next year. Pilots must also receive new training approved by the American Aviation Administration
