According to local media reports on January 11th, there was a long queue outside Lebanese supermarkets, and people began to panic buying living materials. Some shelves of goods were emptied.

On the same day, President Aun presided over an emergency meeting of the Supreme National Defense Council and declared a health emergency from January 14.

During this period, all public and private institutions except necessary departments will be closed and all personnel must stay at home.

According to reports, since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in Lebanon last February, the highest daily increase in confirmed cases in 2020 was less than 3,000.

In the past week, the epidemic has intensified and worsened, and the number of confirmed cases has soared, once exceeding 5,000.
