At least two people were killed in two shootings in New Orleans on Monday night

At least two people were killed and six others injured in at least two shootings in the area between the evening of May 1 and the early hours of May 2, according to new Orleans police.

The first incident resulted in six people being shot, two of whom died after being taken to hospital. Earlier police said seven people had been shot, but corrections were made.

The second incident occurred at about 2 a.m. on the 2nd, when two people were shot.

New Orleans police have not released information about whether the suspect was arrested, motive or victim information.

Just last week, five people were injured in a shooting on Bourbon Street, a popular attraction in New Orleans.
