Botswana’s Wildlife and National Park Service has confirmed that at least five white rhinoceros in the country were poached by criminals in November.

Poaching in the Okavango Delta region of northwest Botswana is increasing, which is worrying. Poaching remains the biggest problem facing Botswana’s white rhinoceros, and the government has intensified its crackdown on poaching.

Botswana’s rhinoceros mostly live in the grasslands of the northern Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is rich in wildlife resources and was listed on the World Heritage List in 2014.
