At least 4 dead and 8 injured in shell attack on governor’s residence in Kunduz Province Afghanistan
November 2 According to Afghan Dawn TV, the Afghan security department said that on the evening of November 1, local time, the residence of the governor of Kunduz Province in Afghanistan was hit by a mortar shell, killing at least four people. Eight people were injured.
Kunduz Governor’s spokesperson Esmatullah Muladi said that mortar shells hit the sports field inside the building and some soldiers were playing volleyball. He said there were casualties, but did not provide further details.
However, according to sources, the victims were all security guards of the Governor of Kunduz. Among the injured, 2 were government employees and 6 were members of the security forces.
According to reports, the Kunduz Governor’s spokesperson accused the Taliban of Afghanistan of launching the attack, but the Taliban has not yet responded to this.
