From late night local time on 23 April to around 6 a.m. on 24 April, at least 30 rockets were fired from the Palestinian Gaza Strip into Israeli territory. Four rockets were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome defence system, while the rest exploded in open areas.

At around 2.40 a.m. on the 24th, IDF tanks attacked the outpost of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, and at around 5.30 a.m., the Israeli Air Force began bombing Hamas rocket launchers and underground infrastructure.

The IDF Front Line Command asked the local population to remain in shelters and remain vigilant. Zikim Beach on Israel’s border with the Gaza Strip has been closed. As of press release, there were no reports of casualties.
